SafeHouse Orientation, City Walk, and Lunch

This year's CONCENERGY Group Challenge will be in downtown, Atlanta, GA at SafeHouse Outreach. When CONSENERGY guests arrive, we will have an educational information session that addresses many of the misconceptions about homelessness and offers real-world solutions to truly help those in the most need. After the session, part of the group will go out on a City Walk where we walk through downtown Atlanta inviting our friends experiencing homelessness back to SafeHouse for lunch. The other part of the group will stay back and prepare the lunch. Once the lunch starts, we encourage (and teach) how to have conversations, listen, and share encouragement with our friends. While there is no shortage of food for our friends experiencing homelessness in downtown Atlanta, there is definitely a real hunger for relationships, friendships, and seeing each other at eye level. The "homeless" people you will see when you arrive, will be friends with names and stories by the time you leave. This is transformative for all involved, volunteers and guests.
